2011 OC Auto Show Pictures
I knew it was going to be a big crowd as I lined up to get my parking and finally it struck me even more as I got into the convention center. People were all over the place. This was a very big crowd. Is there even a recession? Didn’t feel like it as the crowds touched, sat and just ogled the vehicles on the show floor.
What did I do? I just started taking pictures. Most of the pictures I took were of the modified cars at the Shiftr area. I figured I’d take pictures here first and then move on to the bikini contest stage on the other side of the hall. Then I was planning on taking pics of the show cars later in the day. Good plan.
I hope next time, we’re told about the real schedule.
Overall, the bikini contest was fun, took a whole lot of pictures. Once it was all over, I went to the show floor and tried to take some car pics but figured that there was just too many people walking around and getting into the cars or just looking over cars. So yea, I didn’t take the pictures – I don’t normally like taking pics of cars with people in them.
Some day, I have to go to the media day because man, I really do need that time to get those car pictures without all the people around a car. Someday!
I admit I got to enthusiastic about taking a whole lot of pictures of the bikini contest, but it was hella fun! I could give a lame excuse like the crowd was so thick that I couldn’t get out, so I was being forced to take pictures, right?
Like I’ve said in the past, I really do like the OC Auto Show better than the LA Auto Show. It just has more activities for the entire family from the bikini contest, MMA fighting, driving experiences, hell, it just feels more inviting. The LA Auto Show has the glamor but sometimes it feels really cold – like a business.
2011 So-Cal Summer Daze Field Report
2011 So-Cal Summer Daze Field Report
Finally had some time to write something about the So-Cal Summer Daze car show from last month. Drove down to the City of Industry and immediately took pictures. Got there early, just a few minutes after it opened so I figured I had a lot of times on my hands. I think the car show was supposed to end at 7, so yea… I was casually focusing on car pictures.I was smart and ignored the girls because I figured I can start taking pictures of the models closer to when the sun goes down later in the day. Yea, I had it all planned. I was smart… I thought.
Immediately so the food trucks and there were 3, I think one was Mexican food, the other Japanese and the third was Malaysian. Bought a chicken satay from the Malaysian one and it damn pretty good! I’d go there again, but they frequent mainly the Orange County area. Well, hope to see Mama again! The name kind of put me off at first but I’m glad I bought that chicken satay that included really good rice.
Now So-Cal Summer Daze itself was very chill. Just walking around and taking pictures was fun and relaxing. Met some friends and forgot about the real world of responsibilities and just relaxed.
Then came 4pm. Cops came in and basically closed down the car show event. What the hell man. I think it was because some of the cars were parked on another property. Yea, so I stayed a few minutes until the majority of the crowd were leaving and the vendors were closing up shop.
As I was leaving, the cops were video taping everyone as they drove off from the lot. Damn. What the hell man. That was basically it. I didn’t get a chance to get enough import model pictures which sucks, but the day was fun…. minus the cops showing up and closing the car show 3 hours early.
Nisei Showoff 2011 Car Show Pictures – Gallery 1
Nisei Showoff 2011 Car Show Pictures – Gallery 1
Posted the first Nisei Showoff 2011 car show pictures! So how was it? Pretty good. If you’ve been to the Nisei car show previously, then you know its geared towards the cars and as an aside, a few import models. So I left early and found easy parking by Senor Fish right across the Japanese American Museum. Cost me $6.50 to park there all day. Last year I arrived a few hours late and I was looking for parking for a long time. Didn’t like it much, so that’s why I left home early this time.
Ate some tacos at Senor Fish because I was there early and Nisei car show wasn’t open yet. Just chilled. Then I just walked across the street to Honda Plaza and just wandered around. Finally found myself at the front of the Japanese American Museum just watching everyone as the vendors were sitting up their booths.
Team Hybrid was representing at Nisei with what looked like their entire crew in attendance!

The front of the museum had a big banner of Usagi Yojimbo. Damn. I haven’t read that comic in years. Bad ass comic. Check it out. It’s basically about a masterless samurai rabbit wandering Japan getting all sorts of adventure.
It was finally a few minutes to 11 and there I was. Walking to the Nisei car show gate. Payed the $12 bucks and walked right in. Liked the fact that people were allowed to leave and come back unlike most car shows I’ve been to. Immediately walked to the far end and started taking pictures. The first gallery has all cars except for a few pictures of Cassandra Kai!

Motion Auto Show 2011
Going to car shows is a great way to just relax and remove myself from work.. work.. and and thinking about work. Yea. Just chill and focus on getting good pictures, as I walk around and get some exercise, get some free NOS and pay for some over expensive food. Other than the price of the food which you can’t avoid, everything was all good!
